Actually we have now sent many lanterns around New Zealand now. One point to mention is that we send them sandwiched between two thick pieces of cardboard. This does get mistaken for cardboard to be recycled. So do not have anyone throw out your wonderful lanterns along with what looks like cardboard to throw away!
These paper lanterns are so amazing, and make such a statement for a ridiculously low outlay.
I will always remember the first time that we put one up and covered a bare bulb with that plastic cone on top. Instant 5 star look! Globe lanterns. Sphere lanterns. Many names for a wonderful design. Wedding reception Lanterns. Party lanterns. Corporate event in tents lanterns.
Some we have are truly magnificent being 30 inch, 32 inch and even 36 inches ( has some glue on seams seen as in photo seems to be acceptable to many) in diameter. Not everyone could fit those in of course. But if you did put one in a small room you would be forced to look like you are doing Taiichi! ( a basis of Taiichi is to imagine holding a ball.) Also 30 inch sold out for a while.
Some know that we have a bamboo weave version and request those, but please know that 24 inch bamboo uneven weave are now in again. By the way, as the wire needs to flex to put pressure on the lantern to make it global and also not fall out, the wire will look very bent inside. This is normal and the tension is needed. So relax and breathe out now.
OOOh, another issue...Please do not try to bend the' lug' at the top of the wire to fit the light cord into place. Rather, bend the light cord. This bend is in fact how the light will not slip down the cord. Thanks.
Also 99% like our lanterns but some may see the bits of dried glue and take issue. These are still cottage industry products
Usually available in uneven bamboo rib are 12, 14, 16, 19 inch. Also now available is an uneven weave 18 inch.
As regards 12 and 14 inch bamboo weave lanterns, some in the shipment are not very uneven. Do not order if this is extremely important to you.
also many sizes are perhaps a little less than as described.
