Firework Displays Using 500g cakes. will see if possible or return money.
This would be offered to a pyrotechnician known to us. Likely it would be BJ at www.fireworksnz.co.nz
The types of fireworks are Black cat cakes. These are bigger and brighter than the usual retail fireworks available but they will give some fallout so are best in a field where an area can be marked off as an exclusion zone. At least 50m all around the display would be needed. Please check with neighbours and ascertain whether livestock or pets will be affected. Please read up the code of practice ideas found on Google for outdoor displays.
Before paying for this service, Most of the cost is based around getting all the certificates.
please indicate which venue you a planning on using as well as which day or possible rain day you have decided on. and pay for the service where this venue and time is assessed elsewhere in this website.
Please understand that the price is very realistic given costs the public is not aware of. Many do displays willingly for far less, but this is because people love to light these big fireworks.
If councils pay less than this, it is certainly not going to grow and deepen the exquisite or health and safety issues of the industry.
There could be issues with transport if not in Auckland, or even with accommodation and travel if even further afield. We can send a bill for the extra costs.
I have not mentioned the duration of display as this needs to be discussed. A drawn out display may not be as interesting as an intense one, or one may want intermittent firings through an event rather than making a special focused show, Intermittent and hand lit firings instead of electronic planned displays could be set up more quickly.
At any fireworks event, a zone of non entry needs to be set up and maintained. Also, please help with awareness of any sudden wind change and see what this means. It may mean that viewers should be far further back or even in another direction from the wind blowing towards them.
Apart from there being no advantage to be closer to there area where fireworks are being fired at, it is safer to be at a distance. For the super risk adverse, why not consider wearing safety glasses and safe hats. Certainly, do not have seating, as people need to be free to avoid debris or any unforeseen stray shots which, are far less likely if the fireworks of Black cat fireworks are used. Please check videos of the pictured fireworks which are view-able on Youtube.
