Walnuts eaten as is are lovely, but stir fried and added back to other stirfies can work. They can be dry pan fried with some salt and even Xylitol or sugar or honey or maple syrup, maltose, or kitul treacle, they can probably be deepfried- but care in overcooking. They can be cooked and then coated or added to some nut fruit and oat mixtures- muesli.

When in the shell, one can use the bit between the kernels. chew or make a tea with it for thyroid issues. for cracked heels,So not just for mouth food. Your skin can make good use of its nutrients.
Put some shells in a bag and make a foot bath water with it. Soak your split skin away.
