Black seeds, Nigella Sativa, Kalonji.
A seed of many names. Add to the above names Kala Zeera, or even maybe Black Onion seeds. I have heard it called Black Cumin seeds but we had black cumin that did not look like these.
Perhaps boringly ( not if you have symptoms that it could correct) it is regarded as a healing seed.
That is the limit of the Masterchef paradigm- bless them however. I like to add them to a morning many cups of hot water regime. Seems to go down well in that. Would they grind up well in some of those smoothie makers?
Flavour and texture goes excellently with potato dishes potato chunks or otherwise.
I have been adding them to polenta and quinoa porridge.
May be hard to get again.
