Put in the fitting that makes the balls so spherical. At the top of each fitting is a slot. With fairy lights, you can put the ball lights on through use of the slot in the fittings.
Another nice way to display these lights is to hang them downwards by tying them to a string or wire. Choose all of one colour or creatively choose colours to hang down off the string.
