They are curvelly round in shape due to a wire frame which holds the lantern in a tight ball shape. The top of this frame is where the light cord just above the light bulb is fitted to sit there and be held by a kinked friction.
A great example of the welcome vibrancy they bring is evidenced by their perfect use at the excellent La Zeppa venue Victoria Park Markets area.
(well they used to be used there).
